Software developers are one of the most important and coveted jobs in the 21st century. They are responsible for developing and deploying the software that is used across every industry imaginable, including healthcare, banking, and automotive. As the need for more developers grows, especially in states such as Texas, New York, and Virginia, more people are trying to break into these high paying roles.
A degree from a prestigious university might seem essential, but certification programs offer a great alternative. These programs are able to train software developers to have the same skills as a professional with 2-3 years of tenure in as little as 10 months. This is accomplished by prioritizing experiential learning over traditional academic methods, such as studying out of a textbook or from a lecture. Students gain important skills like research and problem-solving as they develop a project portfolio that showcases their abilities to prospective employers.
By the end of the program, participants are highly competitive in the job market. Alumni have successfully secured roles at major companies like Meta, Amazon, and Samsung. These shorter, cheaper programs offer a fast-tracked route into software engineering and provide a launchpad for very valuable skills in the current marketplace.
