The study compares charitable giving reported by the IRS to overall income to determine how much of each county’s income went to charity.The winner was Benton County, Arkansas, where charitable contributions accounted for 15.56% of the county’s total income. This county is home to Walmart's corporate headquarters, a company that gives a lot of money to local and national charities and inspires a sense of philanthropy among employees. New York County, which encompasses Manhattan, is the second on the list. Maybe the city’s strong holiday cheer and festive displays inspire the citizens here to get in a spirit of giving. Notably, several California counties are at the top of the list, suggesting that Golden State residents want to spread their positive and relaxed vibes and good fortune to others.
