Bumble’s Redesigned App has an ‘Opening Move’ Feature that Sends Prewritten Prompts to Matches - Visualistan -->

Bumble has revamped its app, leading to a new feature called ‘Opening Move,’ newly added ‘dating intention’ badges, and more.

Opening Move is specifically meant to give women a kickstart to their conversations with their matches. The feature provides a list of prewritten prompts that you can choose from and even add your own prompts to, that the app will send to all your matches in a new conversation. Some of these prompts are questions like ‘Who’s your dream dinner party guest (real or fictional)?’ and ‘What do you like about my profile?’ If and when the match responds, you can decide whether or not you want to continue the conversation. In case no move is made, the conversation will expire after 24 hours.

One thing that dating app users often struggle with is making the first move. Bumble is different from other dating apps like Tinder and Hinge in a way that it encourages women to make the first move when they match with someone. The Opening Move feature could therefore make it easy for women users of the app to engage with their matches without hesitation or overthinking what to say.

In addition to Opening Move, Bumble is expanding its ‘dating intention’ badges that are displayed on users’ profiles to let potential matches know what they are interested in. Users will now be able to select from up to two of these badges. Alongside the badges, Bumble will also put up users’ common interests and favourite musicians at the top of their profiles.

Bumble is also now making it compulsory for users to upload four photos instead of two, at the time of creating the account. If you upload less than four photos, your profile won’t be discoverable in Bumble’s For You section.
