In an open letter / blog post, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy has shared the
streaming platform’s developmental plans for the year of 2024. From changes to
its mobile platform to collaboration tools and more, it seems like the company
has some major upgrades in store for its customers.
While Twitch has not revealed specific details about the products that it plans to launch, its vice president of community product, Jeremy Forrester, has emphasized three main areas of development. These include sharing of content across other platforms, enabling collaboration between streamers, and upgrades to the mobile version.
For enhanced experience on mobile, Twitch is planning to integrate
the ‘clip editor’ tool that it had introduced last year. The feature enables users
to position clips from landscape to portrait and share them on YouTube and TikTok. In
addition to that, the moderation tools that have been available on desktop
only, may also be incorporated in the mobile app.
In the domain of facilitating collaborations between streamers, Twitch has been trying to make improvements to its Stream Together product by adding new features, such as the merging collaborators’ chats. These features are meant to make the process of setting up and discovering streamers for potential collaborations easier.
