There is a pretty huge selection on the mobile app market for customer loyalty apps. Many companies have discovered the appeal of releasing their own rewards apps. Customers are more likely to shop with them exclusively, as they are enticed by the prospect of receiving some rewards and perks for their purchases. If they were to shop around with multiple companies within the same industry, their points would not accumulate and they would not get the exclusive offers, discounts, and merchandise that is offered on the loyalty app. There are three very popular industries for loyalty apps: shopping, traveling, and food. There are variations among the most downloaded apps based on the type of phone users (this is most likely tied to regional differences). However, there are some clear cut industry leaders. For example, in the food industry, Chick-Fil-A and Domino’s are both in the top 10 for both Androids and iPhones. In the traveling industry, Delta Airlines is the clear cut winner, having the most downloads in both app marketplaces.
