LinkedIn
has been integrating generative AI for different purposes across its platform –
its latest AI product being “AI-powered coaching”, that is part of LinkedIn Learning.
This AI
tool will assist users in their learning journey on LinkedIn, answering queries
specific to their career and helping them improve the skills that their work
requires. Initially, it will guide users on the topics of Leadership and
Management and hopefully LinkedIn will bring more subjects to this experience.
According to
one example shared by LinkedIn in its blogpost, users can explain to the
AI-powered coaching a challenge they may be struggling with at work, in
response to which, it will extract and present relevant information from the
LinkedIn Learning library. The tool will additionally direct users to relevant courses, and provide suggestions,
examples or necessary feedback customized according to the user’s work, career
goals, and skills.
Alongside this AI integration, LinkedIn is also launching other products within LinkedIn Learning, including modules and course recommendations, while it is also expanding its Professional Certificates feature.
The new module feature is in the form of an engaging, personalized feed where users can learn skills from reliable instructors and experts. To further enhance the learning experience, LinkedIn is adding “quick knowledge checks” that will evaluate the learners’ progress, and streaks that help them feel accomplished along the way and stay consistent with their goals.
The course recommendation and certificate features will be
specifically helpful for people in preparing for their next job. “When you set
a job alert, in addition to being notified about open jobs, we’ll recommend
learning courses and Professional Certificate offerings to help you build the
skills needed for that role,” explains LinkedIn.
LinkedIn will also recommend users specific courses when they
view specific jobs. In LinkedIn Learning, users can follow the skills mentioned
for the job that they may be interested in. Then, once LinkedIn launches new
courses for those skills, it will notify users and recommend them content on the
platform that aligns to their career goals.
