The importance of physical activity cannot be understated, and it's important too for the overall health and well-being of children. So, how much exercise do children actually need? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's physical activity guidelines can differ depending on the age of children. Across the United States, the average physical activity for children ages six to seventeen can vary greatly by state. In this new infographic from the team at AAA State of Play, it looks at the most physically active and least physically active children in the United States. According to the data, North Dakota has the highest rate of children who are getting at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day (29.8% of them), followed by Wyoming (29.7%), Montana (27.8%), West Virginia (27.5%), Alaska (26.9%), Nebraska (26.4%), Missouri (26.2%), Ohio (25.5%), Mississippi (25.2%), and Vermont (25.2%).
