Google’s gaming service ‘Google Play Games,’ that enables people
to play Android games on PCs, is getting new updates. Prominent additions include
support for 4K screen resolution on supported monitors and popular console
gaming controllers, and console controller support for select, compatible games.
The 4K screen resolution will support higher-quality graphics so players can enjoy a more immersive gaming experience on their big screens. Players will also have the option to select a specific screen resolution from a variety of resolutions, that best suits their gameplay needs. Pressing the Shift and Tab keys together in any game will display a menu of all supported resolutions.
With the newly added console controller support for select
games, users can enjoy games like Asphalt 9: Legends and BADLAND on their Xbox
S|X, Xbox One, PS5 DualSense or PS4 DualShock game controllers.
According to Google, among the 3,000+ games available in the
Google Play Games catalogue, users will now have access to new popular mobile
games like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, on Windows 10 and 11 PCs. Additionally,
the game progress will be synced across multiple devices, whether a mobile
phone, Windows PC, or Chromebook.
Lastly, Google has added a new search feature to the service
that helps with finding games easily and quickly. This is available in the ‘All
Games’ section, in the form of a search bar at the top.
