Apple’s
iPhone 15 event ‘Wonderlust’ is set to happen on the 12th of September,
live at 1PM ET / 10AM PT. It could be streamed on both Apple’s official website
as well as its YouTube channel.
One of the major additions to the iPhone 15 lineup is a USB-C
charger in place of the Lightning connector. The USB-C ports for the
premium models would be USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 at minimum, while the iPhone
15 and 15 Plus models would support USB 2.0. Either way, all iPhone 15 models
will support faster charging rates of up to 35W. Apple might release updated AirPods
with a USB-C charging case too.
As for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, there is reportedly going to be additions of a titanium frame, thinner bezels, an action button, as well as a higher price. The new action button will be similar to the one on the Apple Watch Ultra, as a replacement for the mute button and will provide other functions too, like assigning shortcuts to apps and settings. There may be some new colour additions too, including a titan grey in place of the gold finish, a dark blue, while the base iPhone 15 is speculated to arrive in black, green, blue, yellow, and pink. There is also a rumour that the iPhone 15 Pro Max may be renamed to iPhone 15 Ultra.
As for the latest Apple watch lineup, there aren’t any major
updates to expect, apart from a darker titanium case for the Apple Watch Ultra
and the addition of an updated S9 processor in the Watch Series 9. The S9 processor
is speculated to account for greater efficiency and improved battery life as
compared to the previous S8 chip. You might also see a new pink colour in the
Watch Series 9 and the option of a band with a magnetic buckle.
Lastly, Apple is probably going to reveal the release dates
for iOS 17 and watchOS 10 in the event too.
