Swimming locations in the United States may require caution due to the potential occurrence of shark attacks. SI Yachts has released a new infographic analyzing data from the International Shark Attack File (ISAF) to identify the areas with the highest frequency of shark attacks in the United States. The data indicates an overall decrease in shark attacks in the United States in 2022, with 13% fewer incidents compared to 2021. However, the United States remains responsible for more than half of all global shark attacks. SI Yachts' research reveals that Florida, Hawaii, California, North Carolina, and South Carolina are the states with the highest historical occurrence of shark attacks within the country. Florida, specifically, is recognized as the "shark attack capital of the world," accounting for over half of all shark incidents reported annually in the United States. Fortunately, Florida has observed a decline in shark attacks in recent years, with only 16 reported cases in 2022.
