WhatsApp is adding a new privacy feature for chats that
allows users to “lock” chats that they want to keep private by keeping them in
folders protected via a password or biometric verification.
Moroever, notifications received by the recipient from locked chats won’t show the name of the sender or message content, hence maintaining the privacy. The feature can be worthy especially when your phone is unlocked and with someone else. It will keep your chats extra secure.
Locked conversations can be accessed by slowly pulling down on
the inbox, then entering your phone password or biometric.
WhatsApp has started rolling out Chat Lock to all its users
and also plans to equip it with more functionalities in the near future, such
as locking for linked devices and the ability to create custom passwords for
locked chats.
