LinkedIn is Reportedly Working on an AI Functionality that Generates Feed Posts - Visualistan -->

After launching the ability to add AI-generated profile summaries and descriptions, LinkedIn seems to be testing another AI tool designed to generate feed posts.

The prototype of the feature discovered by app researcher Nima Ojwi shows that the AI assistant prompts users to share ideas that it will then use to create a post draft.

While experimenting with this functionality sounds fun, we aren’t sure if LinkedIn members would like to see posts with AI-generated opinions in their feed. Perhaps because LinkedIn’s parent company Microsoft is keen on developing AI-generative tools and adding them to its platforms, it doesn’t want to leave LinkedIn behind in this domain.

An expanded generative AI integration may not really be a good fit for a professional platform like LinkedIn, after all. If LinkedIn begins to put more emphasis on AI-powered tools, it will take the focus away from actual people with real abilities on the platform. That could become a hinderance in forming professional relationships, as you wouldn’t really be able to tell what an individual is like and what they can bring to a business relationship if all or most of what appears on their profile is produced by a bot.
