Twitter’s Super Follows feature that was announced in 2021 is being rebranded to ‘Subscriptions,’ with most of its elements maintained. More specifically, Subscriptions will allow subscribers to access exclusive content like tweets, subscriber-only Spaces, and special badges. Twitter additionally plans to bring newsletters and other features to Subscriptions later.

Before becoming subscribers of the feature, users can check their eligibility for it from the Subscriptions section in the menu. Subscriptions can be accessed from “Professional Tools” from the three dots menu, and then by clicking “Monetization.” The section also provides analytics of the estimate amount that a subscriber is likely to achieve in a month.

Users can also check their eligibility to offer subscriptions. The criteria include having at least 500 followers, having posted 25 tweets in the last 30 days, and being at least 18 years old, among other requirements. Subscriptions can be offered at $2.99, $4.99, or $9.99 per month.

Only creators in the US are allowed to sell subscriptions for now, whereas subscribers in the US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia can purchase subscriptions currently. The functionality is available on iOS, Android, as well as Twitter for web. Subscriber-only content, however, can be viewed from the web only.

Twitter says that creators can generate up to 97 percent of revenue if they make under $50,000 in lifetime earnings via Subscriptions. Moreover, Twitter will not ask for shares from creators for the next 12 months.
