Instagram is
bringing new options to Reels that make the video editing process more
efficient, make it easier to discover trending content, and offer improved ways
to analyze content performance.
The editing
process in Reels will now be simpler and smoother, where users will be able to
work with their uploaded video clips in the same screen instead of going
through separate steps to use each editing tool. This editing feature, that
Instagram has also shared preview images of, looks a lot like TikTok’s process
of video editing.
The new discovery option, on the other hand, will offer an
easy and quick way to look up trending content on the app. Trending videos and
challenges can be discovered on a new Reels page containing all trending
hashtags and music tracks. From there, users will also be able to save the
content that they may want to refer to later or replicate in their own clips.
Lastly, new analytical tools for creators will be added to the analytics dashboard, where creators will be able to view the total time people have spent watching their Reel, including the number of replays, and the average watch time of the video. The tool will also notify creators about new followers that found them through their Reel.
