Some countries are known for being wealthier than others, though the countries with the highest wealth around the world may surprise you. For instance, did you know that Iceland has the highest median wealth per capita in the world? The researchers at TitleMax looked at data to determine the 50 countries with the highest median wealth per person. Iceland comes in first with a median wealth of $375,735 per capita. In a close second place is Luxembourg with a median wealth of $350,271 per person. Of the top 10 countries on the list, six are located in Europe, two are located in Australia, and one is in North America.
Median wealth is a useful way to measure the wealth of a nation as it eliminates many of the outliers at the top and bottom to give a better indication of how much wealth the average citizen really has. Which country’s rank was most surprising to you?
