Samsung’s latest gaming monitor Odyssey OLED G8 is now available for pre-order, priced at $1,499. It is the first in the company’s line of gaming monitors to feature a quantum dot OLED (QD-OLED) display.

Other features of the monitor include a 1800R curve, 3440 x 1440 resolution, and a fast refresh rate of 175Hz. The device is capable of producing up to 400 nits of brightness using the True Black 400 spec.

One of the impressive things about the Odyssey OLED G8 is that it can be used for playing games without a console or PC directly attached to it, thanks to its in-built Samsung Gaming Hub. Users can also stream content on Netflix, YouTube TV, and more using this feature.

In addition to these specs, the monitor comes with the SmartThings app which offers support for Mini DisplayPort, HDMI, and USB-C, and allows users to monitor and control connected IoT devices,. A Core Lighting Plus system on the back of the monitor lights up the surface behind it with colors that match those displayed on the screen.
