In a career not short on superlatives, Beyoncé has added
another record to her long list of accomplishments. This fabulous 41-year-old
singer took home four prizes at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, getting
her to a total of 32 wins at the most prestigious award show the music industry
has to offer. With her latest successes, including awards for the Best
Dance/Electronic Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, "Queen
Bey" outdid Georg Solti, the great Hungarian-British conductor, who has 31
Grammy Awards to his name.
Beyoncé, who also shares the scores for most Grammy nominations with her husband Jay-Z, did miss out in the most in demand categories of the night this year, as Harry Styles took home the Album of the Year award for "Harry's House" and Lizzo won Record of the Year for "About Damn Time".
Other than Beyoncé, her husband Jay-Z and previous
collaborator Kanye West, the list of stars with the most Grammy Award includes
many artists that are not essentially household names. Specifically younger
music fans and those not familiar with jazz and classical music may struggle to
be familiar with many of the most adorned artists in the Grammys' 65-year-long
history.
