Currently the richest man in the world is a Luxury magnate,
Bernard Arnault of France, According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. His conglomerate
LVMH includes brands such as Christian Dior, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, and Moët
and Hennessy. His wealth lies at a level that if he starts spending a dollar
each second (without adding further wealth and the dollar not inflating or
deflating), his current assets would still last him more than 5,000 years.
The total capital of Elon Musk (the founder of Tesla) in the meantime has slipped below that of Arnault at $148 billion currently. Many of the richest people like him in the world have made their fortunes with businesses run and grow out of the United States. Other than Arnault, the two richest businessmen to grow out of United States belong to India. The first one is the chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani and the other one is Gautam Adani the founder of port operator Adani Group. He is currently the world’s third-richest man as much of the U.S. tech billionaire elite has struggled with huge stock market losses in 2022.
The company that Ambani inherited started out in synthetic
textiles but moved on to become a conglomerate spanning petrochemicals, retail
and telecommunications. He came to the headlines in October of last year when briefly
entering the exclusive club of those having $100 billion dollars or more to
their name. He was the 11th individual to do so. Ambani's net worth is currently
below that line, while Adani entered the club for the first time in April after
his riches grew impressively over a short period of time.
