On the flip side you will also find which of these metro areas have the youngest people selling their homes. The average age of a home buyer in the U.S. across all metro areas is 47 years old, and only six of the fifty biggest metro areas had an equal or higher average age than the national average. The national average age of home sellers across the entire U.S. is 55 years old, yet the average age of home sellers for all fifty metro areas were found to be lower than the national average.
