Snapchat has partnered with fitness app Strava to develop a
new AR lens called the Strava Activity Lens, which could serve as a means of
engagement around fitness and health.
“With a few taps, the Strava Activity Lens allows Snapchatters to take a Snap or post a Story that instantly tells the tale of recent workouts,” explains Snapchat. The Strava Activity Lens would allow users to share videos and slideshows of their workouts on Snapchat, as well as the Strava app.
You can access the lens by searching for it in Snapchat’s
Lens Explorer, while on the Strava app, it could be discovered on Strava’s
Public Profile. Opening the lens will display your most recent workout and you
can toggle through other activities of yours for sharing.
Strava has a large user base with over 100 million users
registered on the app, which means that it gives Snapchat the opportunity to
extend its reach to older audiences and diversify its userbase.
