is home to most number of billionaires of the world. Approximately 720 out of
2700 richest people belong to the U.S. Although most number of billionaires
still belong to the U.S., in past few years the U.S. share of the billionaires
has been shrinking. About 40% of the world’s billionaire population belonged to
the United States in 2010, and now the percentage has shrunk to 27% only.

industries such as technology, automobile, video games and asset management.
The most familiar names all over the world: Jeff Bezos the Executive Chairman
of Amazon and Elon Musk the Chief Executive Officer of Tesla Motors have their
fortunes fluctuate with the shake in stock prices in recent years. They both
have gotten a chance to carry the title of ‘World’s Richest Person’.

Elon Musk, the richest billionaire in Texas recently
became a resident of this state. His migration is also a part of the broader
migration trend occurring in the United States today.
Talking about richest billionaires in the U.S. there
are eight women that hold this title and belong to different states. Public Storage’s
largest stakeholder, Tamara Gustavon has 11% of stakes in the company which
hold a value of $60 billion on the New York Stock Exchange.
Abigail Johnson and Jacqueline Mars were the richest women in the world according to last year’s rankings. Johnson has served as CEO of top asset manager Fidelity, which was founded by her grandfather Edward Johnson and Jacqueline Mars is a member of the Mars family, which owns the title of world’s largest candy maker.
The U.S. wealth setting
is one of extremes. At one side, there are ample opportunities to earn good
amount of wealth, but at other side, wealth
inequality and income discrepancy
are higher than many other peer countries.
