Meta has gotten a step ahead with machine learning to develop
a new bot responder dataset, BlenderBot 3, which is designed to chat with users
in a more advanced manner, including providing more prompts to guide users
through steps in relation to specific inquires. The bot’s technology combines
two recently developed machine learning techniques, SeeKeR and Director.
According to Meta, the bot is created to “learn how to
improve its skills and safety through natural conversations and feedback from
people,” which in comparison to the previous versions of BlenderBots, is its
special ability. In addition to that, the reason behind BlenderBot’s superior
performance is that it is built from Meta AI’s publicly available OPT-175B
language model, making it about 58 times the size of BlenderBot 2.
Moreover, Meta will be making this dataset publicly available
and allowing users to ask questions to the bot, which in return would provide
Meta with more feedback, hence helping it to improve the technology. On the
other hand, businesses would be able to use the technology for 24/7 automated
customer service.
