Twitter’s latest feed integration is helping to highlight content more suited to users’ interests by displaying a swiepable alternate news feed in the app, where they can follow along with topic-specific tweets.

As an introduction to the new feed display, Twitter has partnered with ABC to launch a new custom timeline for TV show ‘The Bachelorette’ that is accessible to a limited number of people from the US and Canada for as long as the show’s season lasts, which is 10 weeks.

Using the new Custom Timeline option, Twitter will create feeds based on general insights, and additionally, third-party providers will be able to create their own customized tweet feeds to engage audiences around certain topics. Users can switch to these alternate feeds with a simple left swipe.

Twitter also adds that Custom Timelines will have their own algorithmic parameters. Since the feature is still being tested, we could expect Twitter to further facilitate full algorithmic functionality within these feeds.
