Instagram is testing a new broadcasting tool called Live Producer, using which creators can run in-app live broadcasts on desktop with the help of third-party streaming platforms.
The way creators on Instagram can go lives using a streaming software of their choice is by connecting into the Instagram Live
back-end using a stream ‘key’ - a line of program code. Some of the third-party
streaming platforms that would support this feature initially include OBS,
Streamyard and Streamlabs.
If you are wondering the purpose of Instagram experimenting with
this feature, it is to simply give a more professional look to the live streams
with tools such as multiple cameras, external microphones, graphic overlays.
The Live Producer is currently being tested with a limited
number of users.
