Instagram has been testing a new Templates option in Reels
and in the last week, has expanded it to more users. If you can access
Templates in Reels, you can create content based on popular formats created by
other users on the app.
In a preview shared by Ahmed Ghanem, the Templates option appears within the Reels camera and offers various formats. It could be especially useful for people who find it hard to come up with original ideas to create their Reels clips, and can also save time that goes into the creativity process.
However, as more and more users will turn to Templates, more
and more Reels videos shared across the platform will start looking repetitive.
Moreover, the original content creators might find it unfair when their ideas are
used without credit; the same thing that happened with creators on TikTok.
In addition to Templates, Instagram has another option in
development for Reels, that recommends songs for your content based on the
clips that you upload. This is another time-saver tool that allows you to pick
a song recommended by Instagram instead of spending hours deciding one by
yourself.
