After working on the Status feature for tweets for quite some time, Twitter is now testing it with limited users in the US and Australia.
The new Status indicator could be used to describe an activity that you want to display in your tweet as your status. There will be 17 options to choose from, including ‘Hot Take’, ‘Traveling’, ‘Shower Thoughts’, ‘A Case of the Mondays’, etc.
For now, users can choose their status only from the
provided list of activities and can’t add one of their own.
While these indicators wouldn’t have a significant impact on
engagement across Twitter, they could be helpful in adding some context to your
tweets and letting people know what you are doing.
