Meta is redesigning the Facebook feed, dividing it into ‘Home’ feed and a new ‘Feeds’ tab. The Home feed will mainly contain recommended content, while the Feeds tab will pretty much resemble the current feed format, as it will show you the latest posts in different categories, including ‘Favorites’, ‘Friends’, ‘Groups’, etc., except that the posts will be displayed in chronological order.
Meta seems to be working on making Facebook appear more of an entertainment app like TikTok which contains a ‘For You’ feed to keep users entertained with content that aligns with their interest. The new Home feed in Facebook is also created to show users more video posts to keep them engaged.
The Feeds tab, on the other hand, will contain posts from the
different categories in chronological order, which according to Meta, is to
make sure that users don’t miss posts from people they like to connect with on Facebook.
“The Feeds tab will give you a way to customize and control your experience
further,” says Meta.
Meta is releasing the new feed update on both iOS and
Android.
