Certain foods can actually be just as addictive as drugs. There is research that has suggested that certain processed foods are able to increase the "reward circuitry" within our brains up to twenty times faster than that of cigarettes, therefore making these foods extremely addictive to those who consume them. From the team at How Long To Cook comes this new infographic that looks at the most addictive foods out there, along with the least addictive foods.
The infographic uses data from research conducted via the University of Michigan, which used the Yale Food Addiction Scale to determine that the ten most addicting foods are pizza, chocolate, chips, cookies, ice cream, french fries, cheese burgers, soda (not diet), cake and cheese. As for the least addicting foods, the research showed that those were cucumbers, carrots, beans (with no sauce), apples, brown rice, broccoli, bananas, salmon, corn (without salt or butter) and strawberries.
