Snapchat has introduced an interesting addition for
advertisers on its platform, who can now pay members of the celebrity video
creation app Cameo to appear in their advertisement videos.
The Snap x Cameo Advertiser Program is basically designed to
simplify celebrity endorsements and assist advertisers in their marketing efforts.
This is a valuable addition for advertisers on Snapchat, as celebrity endorsements
are quite effective in terms of driving traffic. What’s a better marketing strategy
than an ad featuring the right celebrity paired with the right product or
service message?
Snapchat is also offering content partners on its platform a
way to promote their Discover shows and other content within the For You feed
on the Stories page. The option is called Snap Promote and while it is specifically
created for publishers, it would also benefit Snap ad users.
As for its Discover shows, Snapchat is bringing some new
shows series, including a new season of ‘Charli vs Dixie’ and one starring the
Olympic star Simone Biles.
Snapchat is launching the Snap x Cameo Advertiser program
this week and initially with partners in the US.
