Google has launched a new Core update for Search, which would
influence the way some sites are listed in Search results pages.

While Google does not state exactly the way this update
works, to prevent its system from being scammed, it does, however, provide an
overview of the update.
According to Google, core updates are changes in Google’s overall ranking processes, which “improve Search overall and keep pace with the changing nature of the web.” Google further adds that “these updates may produce some noticeable changes to how sites perform.”
The company further explains that some sites not performing as
well in core updates does not indicate something being wrong with them. “Instead,
the changes are about improving how our systems assess content overall. These
changes may cause some pages that were previously under-rewarded to do better,” Google clarifies.
While content managers can’t really control their rankings
on Search, the awareness about the way Google’s system works from now on would
help them understand the potential changes in their rankings.
Google plans to fully roll out the May 2022 core update within
a couple of weeks.
