Instagram has
announced new updates for messaging including quick sharing, music
previews, new chat themes and other options.
With the new quick sharing option, you can tap and hold the
share button on a post, which will display your top friends that you can share
the post with, without exiting the feed page.
Next, some new online indicators are added in the DM panel,
at the top of the inbox. These will help you spot people in your list who are
free to chat at the moment.
As always, new chat themes have made their way to DMs too, along
with a new control option of @silent, polls within group chats, and the ability
to share music within chats.
The music sharing option is perhaps the most interesting one, as it allows sharing a 30-second preview of any song from Apple Music, Amazon Music and Spotify, that your messaging partner can listen to directly from the DM window.
In addition to this, another new handy messaging option allows
users to reply to messages while browsing.
Since DM is a key engagement feature on Instagram, the company is ensuring to keep its users satisfied with better and up-to-date messaging features and controls.
