Facebook users have a lot to say about what changes should Facebook make to its platform. Some of the suggestions are ones that Facebook has never considered, while others have been tested by the company.

The top-most addition that people would like to see on Facebook is a Dislike button. Users have been requesting for this one for quite a long time, but it seems like Meta has no plans of giving users a way to disapprove content on the platform, since it may add to a negative user experience.

CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, has even expressed his stance on this Dislike button request, saying that, “that's not something that we think is good for the world. So we're not going to build that. I don't think there needs to be a voting mechanism about whether posts are good or bad."

Secondly, users have suggested that Facebook improve its customer service, which is something that Meta is already aware of. The company has often been criticized for being unable to provide an adequate customer support. As a way to improve it, Facebook started testing a new option of live-chat support for some users in select regions.

One very specific issue that users have highlighted is related to keyword blocking, which is an option that exists on Facebook, but users find limiting in terms of not blocking specific keywords from one’s view entirely. The option only blocks keywords from appearing in posts or comments on users’ profiles or business Pages.

Another addition that users would like to see on Facebook is a chronological feed. Facebook long ago replaced its chronological feed with an algorithm-based feed, but a lot of users don’t seem to be happy with this update. According to them, an algorithm-based feed makes it difficult for them to follow important updates from friends and family, as well as posts from Pages that they like. Facebook does have a sorting option of ‘recent posts,’ though,  using which you can restructure your feed in a chronological order, but it is a manual and not a default setting, which doesn’t give much satisfaction to people.

People have also requested for an option of audio posts and comments, and page lists for custom feeds. Facebook has tested both of these options but has not released them. Other changes that users have been awaiting include sorting lists of friends and Pages you follow by location, improved demographic targeting for ads, faster video playback speed options, review certification to stop people using bad reviews due to ulterior motives, and broader account verification as a measure to weed out scammers and spammers.
