Facebook Changes the Name of ‘News Feed’ to ‘Feed’ - Visualistan -->

Facebook has announced an update of changing the name of its News Feed to ‘Feed.’ This addition will have no major impact on anything on the platform, other than simplifying branding, as Facebook stated “This is just a name change to better reflect the diverse content people see on their Feeds. This is just a name change and does not impact the app experience more broadly.”

There is a reason behind simplifying the name of News Feed, though, and it has to do with the confusion that it was causing for people previously, because of the mention of ‘news’ in ‘News Feed.’ Some users have been led to believe that News Feed specifically contains posts related to news.

While most of Facebook’s users are well familiar with the functionality of the News Feed, there are always new users joining the platform, so the confusion and the consequent update perhaps makes sense.
