Twitter is currently testing a new video reply option on iOS,
with which users can respond to tweets with a full-screen video or image. The original
tweet will be embedded in the image or video screen.
Twitter has been testing this option since last month at
least, and has created it in a similar way that Fleets worked. This feature is
a little different from Fleets and provides a unique Tweeting experience.
Additionally, an improved text editing option for Tweets is
also being tested, with which you can post tweets in different colors, to give
them more presence.
Twitter has been focusing on visuals and engagement with its
recent updates, including the option of displaying full sized images in feeds,
which was launched some time back only. Moreover, Twitter’s updated Explore feed also aligns with an enhanced visual experience, as it lets you scroll vertically
through full-screen tweets.
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that TikTok has influenced
Twitter to pay more attention to visuals and engagement. TikTok is currently on
its way to reaching 1.5 billion users, which is 7x more than Twitter’s current
audience.
Nevertheless, Twitter’s new features are a valuable addition
as they can boost interaction across the platform. Twitter is working on
increasing its user growth with these experiments, which time will determine
the success of.
