A new interesting option called Edit Grid is being tested by
Instagram for the profile photo grid, which would allow users to rearrange
posts in their profile grid.
Social media expert, Alessandro Paluzzi, discovered the
latest option in the profile settings. Using the option, users would be able to
move around posts in their grid however they like, regardless of the original
order of the posts.
This would be a helpful tool for deciding what posts you want
to highlight when someone visits your profile. Instagram is also planning to release
another option which would serve the same purpose, called Pinned Post. Using it,
one can select certain posts they want to highlight at the top of their grid.
Instagram is working on different ways to update the main
feed and profile settings according to the feedback that it receives from users.
The company’s chief, Adam Mosseri, also mentioned that Instagram will be mainly
focusing on videos now, along with messaging.
The recent updates that Instagram is testing seem to be part of its broader
push towards redesigning the platform into one that makes video content on the
feeds stand out more. However, the company hasn't revealed if or when it plans to launch the new options.
