In 1949, the Jaguar XK120 saw a top speed of 124.6 miles per hour, which was a record that the car would hold for nearly a decade, until the Mercedes-Benz 300SL reached 150.7 miles per hour in 1955. While those may seem very fast, they're nothing in comparison to the top speed on some of the cars of today. From TitleMax.com, this infographic lists out the fastest production cars by top speed each year, all dating back as early as 1949. Since 1949, there have only been less than cars that have been able to break the record of the previous vehicle, and today (and as of 2020), it's the SSC Tuatara with the fastest top speed out there right now at 316.11 miles per hour. It broke the previous record of the Koenigsegg Agera RS, which in 2017 became the new record holder at 277.87 miles per hour. Of all of these cars dating back to 1949, which of these would you love most to own?
