When it comes to the top-selling video games, there are some common names that have topped the list for quite a long time now. Recently, the addition to the Call of Duty franchise that was rolled out globally on all the platforms is likely to be one of the most unforgettable and significant events in the gaming world.
As the infographic evidence, Call of Duty has shipped more than 400 million units that have kept the franchise ahead of some other most widely played video games i.e., Grand Theft Auto, Pokémon, and EA’s super-hit series, FIFA.
Mario has been seen leading the list of the top-selling video game franchise with over 681 million sales of its units as of 2021. Followed by Tetris with around 495 million unit sales. At the bottom of the list, we can see Minecraft making it to the top ten top-selling game franchises with 238 million individual sales of its units.
