Two years ago, Microsoft’s popular icon Clippy, that had
long been removed from the platform, made an appearance. That didn’t last long
as only few days later, Microsoft once again took it down. It seems like the
company is still involved in a love-hate relationship with its animated
paperclip, for it has decided to finally keep it, but this time in the form of a
sticker pack.
The new Clippy sticker pack will be part of Microsoft Teams
and will include a number of different versions of Clippy. “Whether you loved
him or hated him, Clippy is back with a Retro Sticker Pack in Teams,” says
Microsoft. The Clippy stickers are designed in the same way as other stickers
on Teams.
Clippy was introduced at Microsoft for the first time with
Office 97 and was taken down in 2001 with the launch of Office XP. Microsoft
has been hesitant to re-introduce the silly-looking paper clip, until this
year. Considering people’s mixed reactions towards Clippy over the years, it
will be fun to see how they react to it now.
