Everyone believes that video games are only a thing for the younger generation and kids and predominantly for males only. But, in reality, it is totally different. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) revealed that video gaming is not only dominated by the male audience and young users.
In fact, the stats are quite opposite because around 41 percent out of all the gamers in the United States are females whereas, the average age of video gamers is between 35 to 44 years.
ESA revealed that in the United States, there are over 214 million people who play video games. Considering the fact, the video gaming industry has evolved incredibly fast in the past couple of years and is still expected to keep growing in the upcoming years.
This fast-growing industry attracts more than tens of billions of dollars every year in consumer spending. In the year of pandemic, 2020, video gamers spent more than $50 billion on video gaming content, its hardware components, and accessories.
As revealed in the infographic below, 65 percent of adults are likely to play video games whereas, 70 percent of kids seem to be indulged in gaming activities too.
