We wanted to know how many people every month were searching Google for gold and diamond jewellery. To find out, we data mined to retrieve the info and then turned it into this graphic, below. The figures are rounded up or down to the closest thousand and are taken over the course of a single month.
We can extrapolate that engagement rings are the most popular search term for jewellery on Google, while vintage rings were the least popular. We can also note that rings were 20% of all searches, whereas necklaces were only 11% by comparison. More people search for rings than bracelets, bangles, eternity rings, or pendants, either. All of which recorded low numbers of searching.
The biggest point of interest is in the difference between 30% of all searches for engagement rings versus the 11% searches for wedding rings. This means many more people get engaged than get married.
