The social media giant, Instagram is testing out its new update that will allow the users to select specific people that can view their stories. Currently, the test is being carried out on a small group of users in Brazil.
This is a clear alternative for Instagram’s “Close Friends” feature where users can add specific profiles to the list of Close Friends to view their stories. The company said:
“Before, with the ‘Close Friends’ feature, people could only share Stories with the same list of friends without being able to edit it. With this test, you’ll be able to add, remove, or keep people on your list with different Stories.”
This is a clear alternative for Instagram’s “Close Friends” feature where users can add specific profiles to the list of Close Friends to view their stories. The company said:

We can expect this new feature to offer more capacity to control the audience. Moreover, the people on the list will be there until to make any changes. In other words, it is exactly what the “Close Friends” feature allows you to do but, with enhanced capacity.
At the moment, this feature is available for a particular group of people in Brazil but will soon be launched for other users.
