YouTube had previously brought a feature to its mobile version, of skipping 10 seconds of videos by tapping twice on the right side of the video and similarly going back a few seconds by tapping twice on the left side. Users found this option quite helpful. Now a new feature of quick scrub for YouTube’s mobile app is being tested by the company.
Apparently, some users are able to use the new quick scrub option with the drag and hold gesture. Since the feature is currently in the testing phase, it is not accessible to all users.
Using the long press gesture on any part of the video and pulling the finger across the screen is a convenient way to navigate videos, as it is quite easy to trigger. Some iOS users have also reported seeing the feature on their phones.
It is likely that YouTube will bring the new feature to the
app’s latest version, 16.31.34.
