A new feature has been added to Instagram’s app, which
allows users to search for audio to catch up with the latest music clips trends.
A new “audio” tab can be seen in the app that highlights a variety of music
tracks available in the app, which can be used to create content, especially
Reels.
Tapping on a track displayed in the list will open various Reels in which the specific track’s samples have been used. This way, you can use the audio for your own content and also take inspiration from other videos.
The feature is quite similar to TikTok’s “sounds” tab, so it
looks like Instagram didn’t release it as an original feature, rather as a replica
of TikTok’s existing feature. However, since Instagram is constantly trying to
boost the engagement of Reels, it makes sense why the company decided to add a
new option to compete with the rival app.
As TikTok continues to increase its usage among young users,
one can predict that Instagram as well as other social platforms will continue
creating replica features to catch users’ attention.
