Facebook is now expanding Reels to its own platform after the feature’s success on Instagram. Users will now be able to create and share Instagram Reels within the main Facebook app.

As TikTok continues to gain popularity among social media users, Facebook is attempting to increase the engagement of its own video creating feature, to compete with the rival app. Users will be able to use Reels in their Facebook News Feed or Groups.

It is reported that while scrolling the News Feed, you will see a Create button from the Reels section. Tapping on the button will give access to a variety of Reels tools to capture and edit videos, select music for the videos, import videos from camera roll, etc.

In addition to that, Facebook will allow Reels creators to share their Reels to Facebook. The Reels videos of users will appear with their Instagram profile name.

Back in March, Facebook had introduced the display of Reels content on Facebook and the company is only working harder to boost the feature’s engagement. By rolling out Reels to Facebook, a lot of older audiences who aren’t familiar with TikTok are likely to be exposed to Facebook’s video creating feature. TikTok, on the other hand, is only popular among young audience.

While TikTok’s growth is not expected to slow down any day, Facebook’s efforts could result in Reels becoming an adequate competitor in the world of video-creation. Considering how short video clips have lately become a trend, Facebook seems to be on the right track with its contribution as a popular social media platform.

Facebook is testing integration of Reels within its app in the US for now. The option is also available to some users in India, Mexico and Canada.
