You must have heard the news of companies getting banned due to protests against them but, have you ever wondered why people boycott the companies? the infographic below tells us all about it.
The foremost reason due to which people “cancel;” a brand is animal cruelty. Mistreating animals is probably the most sensitive topic for US adults and that is why around 44 percent of the US respondents said they would cancel a brand for this reason.
Secondly, around 41 percent of the US adult respondents said that they would boycott a company if their workers treat the customers poorly, ahead of corruption and fraud at 40 percent.
As the infographic shows, selling faulty or unhealthy products, sexism or racism, and harming the environment are some other reasons that prove to be a reason for canceling a brand.
18 percent of the respondents said that they had already canceled a company because of their unethical practices. Whereas, around 16 percent said they had ranted over the issue on social media platforms. 15 percent of them said that they had a discussion over such issues regarding companies with their family and friends.
21 percent of the respondents seemed to be pretty unconcerned since they said that they won’t ever mock or boycott any company. 50 percent, on the other hand, has never done canceling any brand or company ever before.
