Yes, you read it right. The famous short video application is testing out a new update of providing its users with job opportunities. Users will be provided with a tool through which they can directly apply to companies like Target, Chipotle, and Shopify.

Want to know an interesting fact? You won’t have to submit the traditional paper resume instead, the video resumes. This program which is for a short term is known as TikTok Resumes and is stems from the organic content on the app, for example, the #Careertok. It is also a stem from the company’s previous initiative that encouraged college students and younger users to focus on their careers.
According to the news, more than 30 companies have already signed up for this new short-term pilot. The pilot is expected to last till the 31st of July. In order to apply for the job, the users are required to create their video resume and post it on TikTok. After that, the video resume must be forwarded to the video recruiters via the app. As the instructions show, users are suggested to not add in their personal information such as contact number or email id on the video resume.

The companies like Sweetgreen, Target, Great Clips, and Chipotle, etc. are searching for entry or mid0leve employees to work in their warehouses or stores. However, many companies are even offering full-time job opportunities. Spotify is looking for a suitable candidate through TikTok to take over the role of a senior data engineer.

Even though the pilot is for a short period of time, it indicates how the company is providing more ways for people with professional skills to find jobs. The submissions for TikTok Resume have been opened from 7th July till 31st July.
