Instagram announced a new feature of saving Stories as
drafts some time back and the option is now available to all users.
You will notice the drafts option when you exit the Stories composer while you’re in the process of editing a Story. The Story will be saved as a draft and will stay there for a week until it is deleted automatically.
Although Story drafts won’t be saved forever, the option provides users with sufficient time to return to their half-way edited Stories that they can share with their followers later at the preferable time. It is also particularly helpful for those who want to post Stories at optimal times, for instance social media managers.
While the Stories drafts feature is new to Instagram, users
have been using other ways to save their Stories, such as by downloading them
or using some third-party apps for this purpose. Nevertheless, Instagram’s own
built-in drafts feature seems to be more convenient.
