Instagram is reportedly working on a new feature of
automatically playing videos in full screen in the feed. The idea behind the feature
is to allows users to watch videos in full screen mode, without having to tap
on the full screen option.
Having users watch videos displayed in full screen is also
likely to boost engagement of users with business accounts.
On the other side of the usefulness of this feature, however, they may be users who would not enjoy it, as some people tend to get irritated by auto play and not everyone wants to watch videos in full screen mode.
The feature was spotted by social media expert Alessandro
Paluzzi and is still in the development phase. Since Instagram hasn’t shared any
official news, we aren’t sure if the company will be rolling the feature out or
not.

Even if the option of full screen auto-play does make an
appearance on the app, perhaps Instagram will provide an option of turning it
off or on, so users can choose whatever they are comfortable with.
