One of the most widely used picture-sharing platforms, Snapchat has rolled out its Dark Mode option on iOS devices. Almost two years ago, Apple launched the iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 that included the built-in system-wide Dark Mode feature which was loved by the majority of the users and since then, most of the iOS and iPadOS users have their devices turned into the Dark Mode.
Since the Dark Mode causes less eye strain, several other top platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram etc. had rolled out this feature a long time ago. Whereas, Snapchat started the tests for its Dark Mode later in 2020 over a small group of its users. By now, the company has made this feature available to almost 90 percent of its iOS user base which allowed millions of users worldwide to opt for the less eye-straining interface.
There are three options for the appearance of the application for iOS users. Go to the Settings on your Snapchat application and select the “App Appearance” option from the list. Now you will see three options that include:
- Always Dark: This will enable a dark theme for your application even if you haven’t chosen the Dark Mode from your iOS default settings.
- Always Light: This will keep your application stay in Light Mode regardless of your default iOS settings.
- Match System: Choosing this mode will make the application match the default theme settings of your iOS device.
