The data from the U.S. Census Bureau USA Trade platform reveals that Texas is currently the biggest exporter in the USA among all the states. The main export items that made the state the biggest include petroleum and oil products. In 2020, petroleum and oil products accounted for around one-third of the total exports by the Texas state. Some other products exported by the South Central state of the USA include aircraft parts, computer parts and integrated circuits. Whereas, cotton made only one percent of the total goods exported by the state.
The infographic attached below shows that 16 percent of the economic output in 2020 was exported by Texas alone. Followed by California with the second-largest exporter state of the USA. Despite being at the second rank, California is not even close to the incredible worth of Texan exports. As per the chart below, Texas exported goods worth approximately $279 billion whereas, California exported goods worth $156 billion. The major goods exported by California were Diamond and almonds however, the state also exported integrated circuits, aircraft parts and semi-conductor machinery.
Without any surprise, the Covid-19 pandemic impacted US exports as compared to 2019.
